”Precious Owolabi is inexperienced to anchor the coverage of such a severe riot that involved gunshots from police and Shiite protesters. Channels TV must do more than just wishing his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss” Barr. Mandy Chinda said in Port Harcourt, following the death of the member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving with Channels Television.

The 23-year-old fresh graduate, who was serving as a corp member with the news agency in Abuja died of a gunshot wound he sustained while covering the clash between the police and the Shiite protesters on Monday.

Channels TV said in a publication that was released following the death, ”the management and staff of Channels Television are greatly saddened by the untimely and unfortunate death of such a promising journalist.”

”They pray that God will grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and avail his soul eternal rest.”
