Senator Bernie Sanders has expressed disappointment over President Trump’s disposition of late. The Senator said Sunday it is “unbelievable” that President Donald Trump assaults Americans and US urban communities after Trump tweeted Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings’ Baltimore district is a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”
“It’s unbelievable that we have a President of the United States who attacks American cities, who attacks Americans,” the Vermont senator said on “State of the Union,” hosted from Detroit, Michigan.
Trump on Saturday proposed conditions in Cummings’ district, which is dominant part dark and incorporates portions of Baltimore, are “Far Worse and more dangerous” than those at the US-Mexico border.
He continued with his assaults on Sunday, tweeting that “Elijah Cummings has failed badly!” likewise training in on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district. Pelosi recently denounced Trump’s tweets on Cummings as racist assaults.
Cummings, the executive of the House Oversight Committee, reacted on Twitter Saturday by saying, “Mr. President, I go home to my district daily. Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents.”
Bernie Sanders called Cummings “one of the most decent and outstanding members of the House of Representatives.”
“Our job is to bring people together, to improve life for all people, not to be, have a racist President who attacks people because they are African Americans. That is a disgrace and that is why we’re going to defeat this President.” the political figure told Tapper.
President Donald Trump’s tweets were the most recent verbal attack against a minority individual from Congress who is a regular faultfinder of the President. Two ends of the week prior, Trump – in racist language that was later censured by a House resolution, told the four Democratic congresswomen of shading to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”
On “State of the Union” later Sunday, Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib revealed to Tapper that president Trump “has a hate agenda.”
One of the four minority congresswomen, Tlaib, who was recently assaulted by Trump – included that Trump “doesn’t have a policy agenda, and that’s what he falls down on. This hate agenda is now seeping into policy making,” she said.
Tlaib was referring to deregulation in the US Environmental Protection Agency. The official said she hears “continually” from her constituents, who state, “We have a right to breathe clean air, there’s something going on here, we don’t feel like our government is protecting us.”
