The former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has finally broken the ice, after weeks being replaced by Jose Mourinho.
On Thursday, November 28, Tottenham issued an official statement where he started by thanking the Spurs owner Joe Lewis for the opportunity to manage a powerhouse in the Premier League.
“I would like to thank [owner] Joe Lewis and [chairman] Daniel Levy for giving me the opportunity to be part of Tottenham Hotspur’s history,” his statement read.
The 43-year-old was suddenly dismissed and hurriedly replaced by Mourinho despite the upgrade and change that came with his five-year period at the club.
Pochettino guided Spurs to four finishes in the top four, establishing the club as one which consistently plays in Europe’s elite competition.
“I would like to thank also everyone I met at Tottenham, all the club staff and the football players during these years.”
“Finally, I would like to give a special mention to the fans who make this club so great with their fantastic support.”
Despite the dismissal, Pochettino has already been linked with a number of high-profile job opportunities, more recently with London side Arsenal, who are out of sorts under manager Unai Emery.
Meanwhile, online reporters reported that Gunners lost yet another game, it was a Europa League as German side Eitracht Frankfut came from behind to shock them at the Emirates.
Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United are some of those big clubs that have been linked with Pochettino, who’s said to bounce back sooner than later.
