President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly faced a regrettable situation in Borno State today, Feb. 12, 2020, as he goes to pay condolence visit following Boko Haram attack on travellers in the state which saw 30 dead and about the same number of both women and children kidnapped.
A report from Pulse said the usual “Sai Baba” cheer President Buhari gets whenever he visits Maiduguri was not heard at all.
A report shows that the residents of the state never hesitated to show their displeasure as the president’s convoy passed by, as they believed that the federal government has failed in securing the state.
“Bama so!” “Bamayi!”, a native language in Nothern Nigeria that means “We don’t want; we’re not interested,” the residents screamed angrily.
Buhari visited Maiduguri today & was Dishonored.
I witnessed the regrettable incidence. I was at the Airport road & stucked in the jam-packed holdup when he landed. There were not much crowds & all my ears could here was the chanting of the angry crowds yelling “Bama so,Bama so pic.twitter.com/ak7rdEsbQh
