A Nigerian Man Tests Positive To Coronavirus In United States

“At this point, he seems to have no history of international travel and no close contacts with a confirmed case. He remains hospitalised.”

A Nigerian man who recently travelled to the United States from Nigeria has tested positive to Coronavirus. Mayor of Washington DC, Muriel Bowser, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in the state.

Muriel Bowser said the man whose name and other details are yet to be disclosed passed through Washington DC before getting to Maryland where he has been receiving treatment at a hospital.

She disclosed that the Nigerian man who’s in his 50s travelled to Washington DC from Nigeria where he had been staying with relatives before he fell ill.

She said, “With his test yielding presumptive positive, D.C. Health has started its investigation in keeping with CDC guidelines.

“At this point, he seems to have no history of international travel and no close contacts with a confirmed case. He remains hospitalised.”

SurgeZirc Nigeria previously published that an Italian had tested positive to Coronavirus in Nigeria on February 24 and had contact with several persons in Ogun and Lagos before being put under strict observation for treatment.

However, authorities in Nigeria claim there is no reason for fear as everything is under control.
