Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden announced at a fundraiser on Wednesday, that he will be benaming his running mate at the beginning of August.
Although he had not begun the process o background checks, he does expect these to get underway in July has “a lot” of potential candidates to choose from.

“We’re in the process of deciding the basic cut, about whether or not they really want it. Are they comfortable? They’ve asked a lot of questions,” Biden said at a fundraiser held late Wednesday.
The only insight Joe Biden gave into his potential candidate is that he would be selecting a woman.
There is a lot of speculation that the Democratic presidential nominee may be looking to find a woman of color to run with, although he has not yet committed himself to this even with the growing pressure around him.
“There are women of color under consideration, and they’re women from every part of the country — so a lot of really qualified women that are ready to be president,” he noted during the fundraiser.

Biden has already been linked to Elizabeth Warren as the two have been together quite a few time as Biden continues on his campaign trail.
Other potential candidates for the position also include Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Senator Kamala Harris of California, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Stacey Abrams who is the former Georgia state House Minority Leader.
Should Biden opt to go for a woman of color as a running mate, he would definitely be increasing his chances of attracting the African-American fan base, however, just the mere fact that he may have any woman on his ticket will definitely improve his standing with the female and progressive voters.
