Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has described the fact that the social media platform blocked users from sharing a Post exposé about Hunter Biden’s emails without providing a clear message as to why it was taking the action as “unacceptable”.
The Twitter CEO tweeted his statement Wednesday night, just hours after a number of high-profile Republicans, including Sen. Josh Hawley, slammed the social media giant for blocking the stories from being shared on Twitter.
“Our communication around our actions on the @nypost article was not great. And blocking URL sharing via tweet or DM with zero context as to why we’re blocking: unacceptable,” Dorsey wrote in the tweet.
Twitter boss noted the action by the social media platform was wrong but never acted on unblocking the story and the official Twitter account of @nypost after blocking users from sharing an article that indicated Hunter Biden introduced his father Joe to a Ukrainian businessman, tagging it that “hacked materials” were used in the story, so pathetic!
Facebook also limited the spread of the article, pending a review by independent fact-checkers, who may never act, or will act only when the purpose for limiting the distribution is achieved.
Angry over the injustice melted out by Facebook and Twitter, Sen. Hawley sent letters to both companies, demanding answers as to why the platforms “censored” the stories.
“@Twitter @jack this is not nearly good enough. In fact, it’s a joke. It’s downright insulting. I will ask you, and @Facebook to give an explanation UNDER OATH to the Senate subcommittee I chair. These are potential violations of election law, and that’s a crime,” he wrote in a tweet.
It’s also funny how big publishers in America such as CNN, BBC, The New York Times, and a lot more never found the leaked information by the Bidens interesting enough to write about it, rather, they scouts for a “misstep” by Trump to publish.
Good thing is, Americans can see the bias and conspiracy to pull one man down, and that’s one man that mean well for the American people.
