Former U.S President Barack Obama in a new video called on Americans to turn out for his former Vice President Joe Biden in an election he described as a “tipping point.”
While speaking on the video, Obama said he was encouraged by a growing movement for justice and progress on a number of issues facing the American people, “This is really a tipping point. And that momentum only continues if we win this election.”
Emphasizing the importance of heading out to vote, the former leader added that in such a polarized political climate, voting matters more than ever.
Obama said, “Participate and vote. It’s not always pretty. Trust me, I know. But it’s how, bit by bit, we’ve made progress over the generations. And it’s how your generation is going to change the game entirely.”
Obama will headline a drive-in rally for Joe Biden in Philadelphia later this week, and it will be his first appearance for his former vice president since the start of the 2020 presidential campaign.
One of the most inspiring things about this year has been seeing so many young people organizing, marching, and fighting for change. And to change the game on any of the issues we care about, we’ve got to vote for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. pic.twitter.com/vfHnP4XPxK
