DMX manager Steve Rifkind said in the late hours of Thursday that the rapper is still alive amid social media rumors that the legendary rapper is now dead, with “RIP DMX” flying all over the internet.
Taking it to his official Instagram account, Steve Rifkind said, “Stop with the rumors. He is still alive, and he is still on life support.” While assuring fans and followers that DMX’s family will be releasing a statement sometime on Friday.
“Let the family relax for a night, they will address everyone,” the manager said.
DMX, who goes by the name Earl Simmons, has been on life support at White Plains Hospital since Friday night after suffering a drug overdose that triggered a heart attack, reports claimed.
He was deprived of oxygen for about 30 minutes as medics worked to revive him.
TMZ reported that the rapper was left with “little brain activity.”
Following the report, hundreds of fans, followers, and family have been keeping vigil outside the hospital including Ruff Ryders motorcycle crew.
