Oprah Winfrey has just confirmed she didn’t know her bombshell interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was going to be as explosive as it was, also adding that she was surprised that Meghan “went all the way there” by saying the British royal family is racist.

Oprah, 67, spoke about the interview while on Nancy O’Dell’s new TalkShopLive say, “I had no idea that it would have the reverberating impact that it has had and continues to have. Our shared intention was the truth.

“They wanted to be able to tell their story and tell it in such a way that allowed them to be as truthful as possible,” Winfrey continued of the pair. “What? You’re going there? You’re going all the way there.

“The reason why it was such a powerful interview … was when you have somebody else who is willing to be as open, as vulnerable, as truthful as they were,” she told O’Dell while on the show.

Oprah Winfrey also spoke on how they worked hard to make sure no one among the crew leaked the content of the interview before it formally went on air so that the couple’s remarks couldn’t be misinterpreted.
