Kate Middleton is a proud daughter-in-law of Princess Diana as she has recently shown while kicking off her royal tour of Scotland with her husband Prince William on Monday, dressed in an all-blue outfit that looks identical to one worn by Princess Diana in the 90s.

For an occasion around Edinburgh, the Duchess of Cambridge wore an $89.90 bright blue Zara blazer (sold out) matching it with a $135 pleated skirt from UK-based brand Hope.
The similarity between Kate’s modern outfit and one that Princess Diana wore in the early 90s close even in the brass buttons on her jacket … plus the midi-length of the skirt.
The only difference could be that the daughter-in-law accessorized with tan suede heels that, of course, matched her Métier clutch, while Diana went for color-coordinating blue pumps.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Kate is referencing her mother-in-law with her fashions. She has two post-baby looks that honor the late mother of Prince William and Prince Harry and most times her choice of jewelry reflects what Diana stood for in terms of accessories.
The Duchess of Cambridge does not only reference Diana in style, she also wears accessories that once belonged to Diana like her famous sapphire engagement ring … an iconic sparkler, which was designed by Garrard, featuring a 12-carat center stone surrounded by a halo of 14 diamonds in all.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently in the midst of a seven-day tour to Scotland, which will include visiting the University of St. Andrews, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first met and decided to do their life journey together.
