Selena Gomez, 29, and her 8-year-old sister, Gracie, re-created a scene from the TV show “Full House” on TikTok, taking inspiration from two iconic sitcom sisters — D.J. and Stephanie Tanner.
“I’m older, I’m taller, I’m smarter,” Gomez says in response to D.J.’s (Candace Cameron Bure) lines from the show, which aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995 and was recently resurrected by Netflix.
“I’m younger, shorter, and I’m… not falling for that,” Gracie responds, repeating Stephanie’s (Jodie Sweetin) lines.
The video, captioned “sisters” by Gomez, quickly went viral, garnering over 2.3 million likes in less than 48 hours.
Because Gomez is notoriously private about her personal life on social media, the “Rare” singer’s sisterly content delighted some of her fans.
A fan commented, “selena and gracie’s tiktok. i can’t believe how big gracie is time flies.” Another wrote, “WE GOT SELENA AND GRACIE CONTENT AHHHHH MY BABIES.”
Gomez took her younger sister as her date to the premiere of “Frozen 2” in November 2019 before making Gracie TikTok famous. They even dressed alike for the occasion, donning matching Marc Jacobs floral floor-length gowns with matching sequin and feather capes.
According to Gomez’s Instagram post, Gracie, who was only six years old at the time, had “her best life” at the premiere.
“Hope I’m officially the best big sissy ever now,” Gomez added. Gracie’s father is Gomez’s stepdad, Brian Teefey.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Selena Gomez named one of her swimsuits after her younger sister. The “Gracie” is a vibrant one-piece designed by Gomez as part of an exclusive collection for La’Mariette.
