Activision Drops ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ Trailer Ahead Of Official Release

Activision's Vanguard will be officially launched during an in-game event within Call of Duty: Warzone, a free-to-play battle royale that is part of Modern Warfare and is linked to Black Ops: Cold War.

Recently, images for the next Call of Duty game have been making rounds online, giving us a taste of what to expect in the franchise’s future. Activision has now released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard, which features elements that clearly indicate the game is set during World War II.

The game depicts old weapons, a beach littered with the remains of planes from the time, and a forest in Germany, among other things.

Vanguard was created by Sledgehammer Games, the studio responsible for several other Call of Duty titles, including Call of Duty: WWII.

Activision’s Vanguard will be officially launched during an in-game event within Call of Duty: Warzone, a free-to-play battle royale that is part of Modern Warfare and is linked to Black Ops: Cold War.

It will take place during the Battle of Verdansk, which begins on August 19th at 10:30 a.m. PT/1:30 p.m. ET. We’ll almost certainly learn more about the event before then.

Vanguard’s publisher, Activision, is in the midst of a sexual harassment lawsuit against parent company Activision Blizzard.
