Selena Gomez Backtracks, Says She’s Proud Of Her Work With Disney

“I signed my life away to Disney at a very young age and I didn’t know what I was doing. What I’d say is the level of sophistication of the material is the first reason why I wanted to do this.

Actress Selena Gomez has backtracked her controversial comments about Disney Channel and is now saying a completely different thing about being “proud” of her work at the network.

Earlier this month, the singer made headlines when she claimed she “signed” her “life away” while working for the House of Mouse as a kid actress.

“No, definitely not. I was looking for another show to do. And by the way, I’m beyond proud of the work that I did with Disney as well. It kind of shaped who I am in a way,” Selena Gomez told reporters when asked if she was reluctant to return to TV to feature on a new Hulu show.

The “Hotel Transylvania” star, who played Alex Russo on “Wizards of Waverly Place” from 2007 to 2012, added that she had “absolutely” no qualms about returning to TV and Disney, Hulu’s majority owner.

Selena Gomez previously stated that the maturity of her new Hulu comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” drew her to the role, which was a far cry from her work on Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
