Grimes Reveals Reasons She Posed With Karl Marx’s ‘Communist Manifesto’

This had sent social media into a frenzy since the 33-year-old and richest person in the world, Tesla founder, Elon Musk, had announced their break-up only last month.

Singer, Claire Boucher, professionally known as Grimes, has revealed the major reasons she posed in public with a copy of The Communist Manifesto.

Last week, the artiste was pictured sitting on a curbside in Los Angeles and flipping through a copy of a pamphlet from 1848. The party pamphlet, The Communist Manifesto, was written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and emphasizes calls for the seizure of wealth.

This had sent social media into a frenzy since the 33-year-old and richest person in the world, Tesla founder, Elon Musk, had announced their break-up only last month.

The Canadian singer, however, took to her official Instagram account over the weekend to clear the air and explain the reasons for her action. According to her, “she had dreamed up the whole scenario” and only saw it as an “opportunity to troll” paparazzi.

She posted a copy of the picture alongside a screenshot of The New York Post’s new story, headlined, “Grimes seen reading Karl Marx following split with world’s richest man Elon Musk,” and revealed.

Captioning the post, she wrote, “I was really stressed when paparazzi wouldn’t stop following me this wk (week) but then I realized it was an opportunity to troll… I swear this headline omg wtf haha I’m dead (sic)”, in reference to the New York Post story.

Commenting on her relationship with Musk, she said;

“Full disclosure I’m still living with E (Elon) and I am not a communist (although there are some very smart ideas in this book – but personally I’m more interested in a radical decentralized ubi (universal basic income) that I think could potentially be achieved thru crypto and gaming but I haven’t ironed that idea out enough yet to explain it.

“Regardless my opinions on politics are difficult to describe because the political systems that inspire me the most have not yet been implemented).

“Anyway if paparazzi keep chasing me perhaps I will try to think of more ways to meme – suggestions welcome!”, she added.
