The star trek actor could also be heard in the short footage, repeating “Oh Jesus” before adding: ‘No description can equal this.’

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon funded Shatner’s visit to the stars. The actor and three others lifted off in a New Shepard rocket from Texas.

It has been revealed that they reached an altitude of around 350,000ft before coming back to Earth minutes later.

Upon his return, the actor said, “everyone in the world needs to do this. It was so moving to me. This experience has been unbelievable. ‘I am so filled with emotion about what just happened. It’s extraordinary. Extraordinary.

“I hope I never recover from this. I hope I can maintain what I feel now. I don’t want to lose it. It’s so much larger than me. it has to do with the enormity and the quickness and the suddenness of life and death.’

With his recent visit, William Shatner holds the record of the oldest person to ever travel to space previously set by 82-year-old Wally Funk.
