Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo To Star In Film Adaptation Of ‘Wicked’

The 28-year-old will star in the role of Glinda The Good Witch while Erivo whose full name is Cynthia Onyedinmanasu Chinasaokwu Erivo, will play Elphaba

American pop star, Ariana Grande and singer, Cynthia Erivo are set to appear in Universal’s adaptation of the award-winning musical, Wicked.

The 28-year-old will star in the role of Glinda The Good Witch while Erivo whose full name is Cynthia Onyedinmanasu Chinasaokwu Erivo, will play Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.

Ariana Grande had revealed her new role in an Instagram post where she shared a picture of flowers as well as a message sent by co-star Cynthia Erivo.

Although the release date had not been set yet, the film has been in production for over a decade. Variety reports that although Stephen Daldry had been billed to direct the film, he was forced to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts.
