Emma Riley becomes another White House staffer who is leaving after less than a year at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as President Biden’s approval ratings continue to plummet.

Emma Riley who is the White House communications chief of staff announced her departure from the West Wing in a Friday tweet. She will join the Labor Department.

“It was an honor and privilege to serve @POTUS and the American people at the @White House … I’m excited to be moving down Pennsylvania Ave and traveling around the country with @SecMartyWalsh and @USDOL,” wrote Riley.

Riley’s departure from the White House was followed by the resignation of Vice President Kamala Harris’ communications director on Thursday, amid reports of turmoil in the East Wing.

Ashley Etienne, a longtime top adviser to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has twice served as Pelosi’s communications director, as well as in the Obama White House.

“Ashley is a valued member of the Vice President’s team, who has worked tirelessly to advance the goals of this administration. She is leaving the office in December to pursue other opportunities,” a White House official said.

According to a Fox News poll released on Friday, Biden has received the lowest marks of his presidency thus far. His approval rating is 44 percent, with 54 percent opposing him. It was 46-53 percent last month. His best ratings were 56-43 percent in June.

When compared to six months ago, Biden’s approval is down 16 points due to his handling of the coronavirus, 15 points due to the economy, and 7 points due to immigration.

Currently, 36% approve of his economic efforts, while 31% approve of his immigration efforts. 48 percent approve of Biden’s best issue, the pandemic.

Furthermore, more than half of those polled disapprove of Harris’ performance and believe she is unqualified to be president.
