Queen Elizabeth II has been forced to cancel her initial vacation plans due to an increase in COVID-19 cases across the UK, a recent report has shown.

According to People, the British monarch, 95, has decided not to travel to Sandringham as planned, instead of staying at Windsor Castle for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

According to the insider, Queen Elizabeth will continue to be visited by members of the royal family throughout the holiday season.

Her Royal Majesty will be spending her first Christmas without her late husband, Prince Philip, who died in April. He was 99 years old.

The Queen has missed out on holiday travel for the second year in a row due to the pandemic.

The royal family traditionally arrives at Sandringham on Christmas Eve and famously walks to St. Mary’s Magdalene Church on Christmas Day for a church service.

The royal’s decision to forego tradition comes just one week after she canceled her pre-Christmas lunch for the extended family. It was supposed to take place at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
