Princess Diana’s Final Lover Dodi Fayed Gets ‘The Crown’ Treatment

“You wanna talk about history repeating itself? They’re not gonna stop until she dies. It’s incredibly triggering to potentially lose another woman in my life,”

The ill-fated romance of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed has resurfaced in the public eye.

Season 5 of Netflix’s “The Crown” will delve deeply into the late couple’s love affair. On August 31, 1997, the Princess of Wales and an Egyptian film producer were killed in a car accident in Paris.

Photos of the actor playing Fayed, Khalid Abdalla, as well as set photos, were released, giving fans a new look at the upcoming season.

During the shoot, Abdalla wore Fayed’s mustache, jeans, and a long olive coat. The actor was filming a scene for the show in which he appeared on the set of the 1981 sports drama “Chariots of Fire.”

At the time, Fayed was an executive producer on the project. Abdalla was also joined by actor Salim Dau, who plays Mohamed al-Fayed, the late filmmaker’s father and former Harrod’s owner.

The People’s Princess will be played by Elizabeth Debicki, and her ex-husband, Prince Charles, will be played by Dominic West. Imelda Staunton will play Queen Elizabeth II, and Jonathan Pryce will reprise his role as her late husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Fayed and Princess Diana began dating in July 1997, just a few weeks before their tragic deaths. That fateful summer, Mohammed invited Diana and her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, aboard his yacht.

The couple had stopped in Paris on their way to London on the day of their deaths. The couple had spent nearly ten days together on vacation in the French and Italian Rivieras.

In his Apple TV+ series “The Me You Can’t See,” Harry, 37, shed some light on his mother’s relationship with Fayed. “History was repeating itself,” he said of his wife, Meghan Markle, and the alleged racism she faced. My mother was pursued to her death because she was in a relationship with someone who was not white, and looks what happened.
