Ed Sheeran Irritated That A ‘South Park’ Episode From 2005 Ruined His Life

When asked if he was concerned about cancel culture, given that the duo created a contentious cartoon more than two decades ago, Stone responded, “No. As you can see from this deal, we have ‘f–k you’ money now.

British singer Ed Sheeran is currently thinking aloud about the “South Park” episode “Ginger Kids” from 2005 as he slammed the episode, which aired in November of that year, and claimed it ruined his life.

The show spoofs orange hair and features Cartman delivering a hate speech in which he claims that kids with ginger hair and pale skin are creepy creatures suffering from “gingervitis.”

“Having red hair was always something that people made fun of in England, but it was never something in America,” Ed Sheeran told Slam Radio in a recent show, “People never knew what ginger was in America. That episode of ‘South Park’ f–king ruined my life.”

Ed Sheeran added, “I was going to America and everyone was like, ‘I love your hair dude.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, people like my hair?’ And then I remember that episode coming out and that was just it worldwide for the rest of my life.”

Since 1997, the NSFW animated sitcom has been on the air and is still going strong. Since then, 23 seasons and 309 episodes have aired, and the show recently signed a $900 million deal with Viacom CBS.

“In America, no one knew what a ginger was. “That ‘South Park’ episode f–king ruined my life,” the British singer said.

Meanwhile, Matt Stone, the show’s co-creator, spoke to Bloomberg last August about the massive payday.

“We have a ‘South Park’ 3D video game, release date unknown. We’re doing deep fakes. We have a studio with a dozen people who are deep fake artists. We’re working on a little more of this deep fake movie we’re trying to piece together,” Matt Stone told the publication.

He continued, “We did a ‘South Park’ movie in 1999, and we’ve never done another one because the show has been so satisfying. Now we’re older, and the idea of what streaming movies can be is pretty promising.”

“Ginger Kids” premiered in November. 9, 2005.

Stone went on to say that he and co-creator Trey Parker can “do whatever we want,” and that they are “the luckiest guys in TV” because of the support they have received.

“We’re more interested in it than whining about it. It’s a legit cultural change. We explore it all the time in the show.”
