Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and his wife Brittany welcomed their second child on Monday night, and the boy was named after the quarterback.
Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, his proud parents announced on social media.

The quarterback, named after his father, former baseball pitcher Pat Mahomes, shared a photo of the baby’s feet in a onesie. “Bronze” was written on a piece of jewelry beneath the baby’s feet.
In June, the couple revealed they were expecting a son. Brittany Mahomes gave birth to their first child, Sterling Skye Mahomes, more than a year ago.

Patrick and Brittany tied the knot in March. The high school lovers got married in Hawaii.
They started dating when the quarterback was a sophomore and the soccer player was a junior at Whitehouse High School in Texas.
Brittany played soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler and for a short time abroad.
