After a reporter asked Joe Biden a question about an alleged FBI informant who claimed the president had accepted a bribe from a foreigner, Biden responded.

He posed his own question to the reporter. A media member questioned Biden after the press conference on Thursday regarding why the FBI file involving the alleged informant referred to the president as “the big guy.”

“Why’d you ask such a dumb question?” Biden said in response.

Republicans in Congress said last month that they were approached by an informant who told the FBI had a document that precisely detailed information from a confidential human source that said Biden was involved in a $5 million criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national while vice president.

On Monday, Senator Chuck Grassley alleged that the FBI had suppressed information indicating that the foreign national possessed audio recordings of his conversations with Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

From the Senate floor, Grassley stated, “These recordings were allegedly kept as a kind of insurance policy for the foreign national in case he got into a tight spot.”

The Iowa Republican commented on the redactions, “That goes to show you the disrespect the FBI has for Congress.”

A reporter from the New York Post questioned Biden on Tuesday regarding the alleged existence of those audio recordings.

According to a report published, “Biden, 80, stopped mid-stride and turned around with a smile on his face—then seemed to chuckle to himself and shook his head as he turned to walk away without saying a word.”

The FBI and the House oversight committee held a closed-door briefing on Monday. A committee member, Anna Paulina Luna, stated shortly after that the bureau is “afraid” the alleged informant would be “killed if unmasked.”

The Florida Republican told SurgeZirc US, “We are going to bring the FBI director in before Congress for contempt of Congress proceedings as he is still conspiring to shelter the Biden administration from its own sickening corruption.”

Republicans have questioned whether the FBI conducted an adequate investigation into claims regarding the Biden family’s international business dealings.

However, newspapers like The Washington Post and The New York Post reported that the FBI reviewed the allegations and decided to drop them during the Trump administration due to a lack of evidence.
