Responding to a question, Tori Spelling said, “A break might have changed things”. Tori also said, “If I’m going to answer as a fan, which is how we go into the show right now, yes, I would have liked it if Brenda stayed.”

Jennie Garth added, “I wish that Brenda Walsh would have stayed on the show, definitely, but I don’t know where they were going to go with her character”.

Brenda Walsh is a fictional character, played by Shannen Doherty, who left the show and was replaced by Tiffani Thiessen, as Valarie Malone.

Shannen Doherty’s exit from the show sparked rumors of her being fired, but she claimed she had quit and it was a mutual decision. Tori Spelling recalled, how unhappy what was going on, on the TV set made people feel, and so a break was needed.

In her words “ I’m not saying she made it toxic just from everything going on. So it did need a break. But Yes if we have taken a breather, and everyone had calmed down and sorted out, it would have been nice to have Brenda come back”.
