Thomas Rhett performed a sold-out show at UBS Arena in Belmont, New York, on Saturday night as part of his electrifying Home Team Tour.

Rhett took the stage around 9:30 p.m. behind a drum kit, where he performed a sick solo in a custom “Belmont Park” bomber jacket before starting his 2016 summer song “Vacation.” Opening artists Nate Smith and Cole Swindell had previously warmed up the audience.

“Y’all make me smile. You bring me so much joy,” he stated, emphasizing that this was the loudest crowd he had encountered in his ten years of performing.

Rhett sang his biggest singles for the next 80 minutes, including “Beer Can’t Fix,” “Unforgettable,” and “T-Shirt,” all of which sounded as clear as the album versions thanks to the new venue’s cutting-edge sound system.

The crowd, however, occasionally succeeded in drowning out the man of the moment by singing along to his well-known ballads, “Marry Me” and “Die a Happy Man.”

A montage of home movies depicting Rhett, his wife Lauren Akins, and their four girls played before his performance of “Life Changes,” his 2018 single about maturing and establishing a family. The show was full of personal touches.

Surprisingly, Rhett didn’t do a cover of Bruno Mars, who he has frequently cited as one of his greatest musical influences.

Nevertheless, even without a little “24K Magic,” he had the audience on their feet the entire night. The stirring Home Team Tour might be the next best thing till Mars goes on the road once more
