The Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA), the largest police union in the state of Florida, recently announced its endorsement of former President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential race.

PBA President John Kazanjian made the declaration, stating that Trump is the right person to handle the numerous crises facing the nation. In a letter seen by SurgeZirc, Kazanjian expressed his concerns about the current state of the country under the current administration.

He pointed out that law enforcement officers are leaving their jobs in record numbers, crime rates are rising in major cities, and there has been a significant influx of migrants, straining the ability of local municipalities to maintain public safety and provide essential services.

According to Kazanjian, the choice of the next president of the United States is critical for the future of the nation. He emphasized that the Florida PBA, representing 30,000 members, proudly endorses Trump for another term as president.

Kazanjian praised the successes of Trump’s administration and highlighted the importance of defending the police and addressing the border crisis.

Moving forward, Kazanjian called on all PBA members, their friends and family, and all Floridians who support law enforcement to cast their ballots in support of President Donald J. Trump. He expressed confidence that together, they can make America great again.

The endorsement from the Florida PBA comes at a time when murder rates in big cities across the country, such as Washington, D.C., Memphis, and New Orleans, are on the rise.

Despite overall lower crime rates nationwide according to FBI statistics, retail theft rates have also been increasing in some areas, leading to the closure of many businesses.

It is worth noting that the Florida PBA previously endorsed their state’s governor, Ron DeSantis, in the Republican primary. However, DeSantis dropped out of the race following the Iowa caucuses in January.

Trump then became the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party after former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley exited the race and Trump secured victories in the Georgia, Mississippi, and Washington primaries on March 12.
