Since these robots are intended to move independently, Apple is also exploring the use of navigation algorithms. These algorithms would enable the robots to navigate their surroundings effectively.
The development of these robotics projects falls under Apple’s home devices group, and it has even recruited engineers who previously worked on the abandoned electric vehicle initiative.
However, unlike smartphones which have become an essential part of people’s lives, robots are not yet considered a necessity by the general population.
Apple is concerned about whether consumers would be willing to pay a premium price for the robots it envisions. Executives within the company have differing opinions on whether Apple should continue investing in these projects.
With the abandonment of the Apple car project, the company is now focusing its efforts on other areas.
