Country music icon Dolly Parton has offered fans a reassuring update about her health after months away from public appearances.
Speaking in person at Dollywood on March 13, the legendary singer addressed recent concerns that arose after she postponed her Las Vegas residency last September. The 80-year-old star explained that she had been dealing with some minor health challenges but is now feeling much better.

“I’ve been not touring, as you know,” Dolly said during the appearance. “I’ve had a few little health issues, and we’re taking good care of them.”
The update marked one of her first public engagements in months, and it comes nearly a year after the death of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away after more than five decades of marriage.
Dolly Parton Says Grief And Exhaustion Contributed To Health Struggles
During her remarks, the “Jolene” singer explained that emotional strain and fatigue played a role in her recent health concerns.
“I just kind of got worn down and worn out, grieving over Carl and a lot of other little things going on,” she said. “I just got myself kind of where I needed to build myself back up spiritually, emotionally and physically.”
Despite the difficult period, Parton reassured fans that her recovery is going well.
“All is good. It didn’t slow me down,” she added.
Dolly Parton Working On Broadway Musical And New Projects
Now feeling what she describes as “back to normal,” the country legend said she has been focusing on creative work and preparing for upcoming projects.

Among them is her highly anticipated stage production, Dolly: A True Original Musical, which she has been developing for Broadway.
“I’ve just been doing a lot of writing, a lot of thinking, a lot of praying and a lot of getting ready for a lot of new stuff coming up for the rest of this whole year,” she shared. “So, be ready for me. I ain’t done, I ain’t near done.”

While fans continue to support her through the loss of her longtime partner, Parton also addressed speculation about her personal life.
The singer made it clear she has no plans to start a new relationship following Dean’s passing last March after 58 years of marriage.

“I think Carl Dean’s waiting for me on the other side,” she said. “If I should show up at the pearly gates with somebody else, he would not like that. He’d be saying, ‘Who’s that little pisser? You leave him outside the gates.'”
