CJN, Tanko Muhammad Ran Out Of Supreme Court Over Governorship Tussle

Report from the Supreme Court says that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad ran out of the court hall to his chambers as a result of the over congestion in the Court hall.

The Supreme Court Justice Muhammad is currently presiding over seven outstanding governorship appeals matters.  complained about the rowdy hall.

The court hall has been rowdy from 6:00 am today 13, Monday, January as supporters of the governors involved from Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, Adamawa, Imo, Benue, and Plateau States filled the court premises.

The Director of Litigation of the Supreme Court, Ibrahim Gold had to ask people with no serious business in the court hall to leave, requesting that only the lead counsel and four others should remain in the hall to represent each of the parties.

He said, “If you are not appearing as a lawyer for the appellant and respondent, please leave the hall,”

At the time of writing this, report shows that security agencies are still finding it difficult to clear the hall.
