Facebook Has Pulled Down Trump’s campaign Census Ads

The ads became active on Facebook earlier this week and were amplified to reach Facebook users across the country. But currently, it is now listed as "inactive" and has been taken down, according to the social network's Ad Library.

Facebook has pulled down a large number of US President Donald Trump’s campaign census ads on its platform for going against its community standard on prohibiting misinformation related to the 2020 U.S. census.

The Trump’s campaign census ads, which were first spotted and reported by journalist Judd Legum, encouraged Facebook users to participate in the “Official 2020 Congressional District Census,” and redirected to a survey on the US President Trump campaign website.

The Facebook action against Trump’s campaign census ads became loud because the social media company hasn’t really been active in applying its policies on politicians and the moves.

But it looks like Facebook is determined to up its game now as it on Thursday confirmed it has pulled down the ads without a second thought.

“There are policies in place to prevent confusion around the official U.S. Census and this is an example of those being enforced,” Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone wrote in a statement.
