According to reports, Andre Conley who was interning for the Republican challenger of Rep. Ilhan Omar was fatally shot in North Minneapolis on Monday.
He was amongst two outreach workers for Lacy Johnson’s campaign that were struck by gunfire outside of a Super USA convenience store.
Lacy Campaign believed that the shooting and the act of violence is not politically motivated, said to the Network.
In a Monday statement, Johnson Campaign wrote, “It is shocking and unnecessary acts of violence like this that prove why change is more needed than ever in our community.”
Conley’s Aunt Fatemah Green said in disbelief, “my nephew Andre did not deserve this,”
The fatal shooting survivor was hospitalized in a stable condition. However, the suspect involved in the shooting was arrested on a Thursday.
According to police statistics, the city of Minneapolis experienced more murders in the first nine months of 2020 than all in 2019.
