Prince William Feels ‘Committed’ Not ‘Trapped’ By Royal Life, Disagrees With Harry

A friend told the UK Times, “Part of William’s evolution is that as he has become closer to his father, he sees their similarities,” while adding that “The rift with Harry has also brought them closer.”

Prince William feels “comfortable”, not “trapped” by his life in the palace, and he has grown even more committed to royal duties contrary to his younger brother Prince Harry’s claim during his CBS interview.

A close source to both William and Harry told The Sunday Times that the 38-year-old Duke of Cambridge was left reeling by Harry’s controversial TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying, “Harry’s claim that his royal sibling is trapped by his duties is way off the mark.”

“William has a path set for him, and he’s completely accepting of his role,” the friend said of the prince, who is next in line to the throne after the brothers’ father, Prince Charles.

“He is very much his grandmother’s grandson in that respect of duty and service,” the source said of William, linking him to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.

The source also mocked Harry’s notion that his brother, as well as their father, were still “trapped” after he has escaped. The source also added that Megxit and the Oprah tell-all interview have only helped bring the senior royals closer than they were.

William got closer to the Queen and his father Prince Charles after Meghan and Harry announced they were quitting the royal family early last year, and the three senior royals are now more united than they have ever been amid the damaging claims in the interview.

After the interview, Prince William’s relationship with his dad, who took the most criticism from Harry became even stronger.

A friend told the UK Times, “Part of William’s evolution is that as he has become closer to his father, he sees their similarities,” while adding that “The rift with Harry has also brought them closer.”

William became the first British to publicly react to the claims Prince Harry made during the interview, which included the claim that a royal was concerned over how dark their son Archie’s skin would be since Meghan is biracial. The Duke of Cambridge told reporters that the royals are “very much not a racist family.”
