In a new court filing, Angelina Jolie has accused her ex-husband Brad Pitt of having a “history of physical abuse” against her before their alleged plane incident in 2016.
The actress, who is now 48 years old, filed paperwork on April 4th against the 60-year-old actor, claiming that Pitt’s abusive behavior started well before their plane trip from France to Los Angeles in September 2016.
According to documents obtained by multiple outlets, Jolie’s legal team stated that the 2016 flight marked the first time Pitt turned his physical abuse on their children as well. This revelation led Jolie to leave him.

The allegations of physical abuse against Pitt are serious and have significant implications for their ongoing legal battle.
Jolie’s lawyers also claimed that Pitt wanted her to “contractually bind herself” to silence after discovering a sealed filing she submitted in 2021.
This filing supposedly contained emails, summaries of the family’s expected testimony, and other evidence related to their legal situation. Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, alleged that Pitt refused to purchase her interest when she refused to be silenced by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Murphy further stated that Pitt’s refusal to buy her interest but then suing her puts into question why the NDA was so important to him.
He suggests that Pitt wanted to bury his abuse of Jolie and their family. The implications of these allegations are significant and could have a major impact on the outcome of their legal battle.
