It is with heavy hearts that we share the official cause of death of the beloved actress Suzanne Somers. According to her death certificate, obtained by The Blast, Suzanne passed away from breast cancer that had metastasized to her brain.
The certificate listed her immediate cause of death as ‘breast cancer with metastasis to the brain.’

Suzanne’s battle with cancer was well-known, and she fought with incredible strength and resilience. She passed away peacefully at home on October 15, at the age of 76.
Just three days after her passing, Suzanne’s loved ones celebrated what would have been her 77th birthday. Her husband, Alan Hamel, and son, Bruce Somers, shared a touching video on Suzanne’s Instagram, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and affection from fans.
They also invited fans to share their fondest memories and stories of Suzanne’s impact on their lives in a Tribute Book set up on SuzanneSomers.com. Bruce, Suzanne’s son, took to social media to pen a heartfelt tribute to his mother.
He described her as a warrior who protected those who didn’t have a voice and asked the questions others didn’t know to ask. To him, she was simply Mom, and he felt privileged to be the only one who could call her that.
Suzanne’s battle with breast cancer began in 2000 when she was first diagnosed. She underwent a lumpectomy and radiation but declined chemotherapy. By 2007, she proudly declared herself cancer-free.

However, in July of this year, she shared with her fans that her cancer had returned. She bravely faced the challenge head-on, using both alternative and conventional treatments to combat it.
