Former President Donald Trump recently visited the Mexican border in Eagle Pass, Texas, and declared it a “war zone” under President Joe Biden’s administration.

During an exclusive interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Trump expressed his frustration with the lack of cooperation from Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and criticized Democratic governors of border states for their handling of the migrant crisis.

Trump highlighted the shift in the migrant epicenter to the lands of Democratic governors, as President Biden met with officials in the quieter border confines of Brownsville while Trump toured Eagle Pass.

Hannity raised concerns about the possibility of unaccounted-for migrants plotting acts of terrorism, to which Trump responded by pointing out that thousands of migrants from U.S. rival nations like Iran, China, Russia, and Afghanistan have arrived at the border.

The former president emphasized the need for action, stating that Mexico is not doing enough to help stop the influx of caravans.

He drew attention to the fact that many of the migrants coming from China are of fighting age, suggesting that they may not be family units seeking refuge but rather individuals with different motives.

Trump also mentioned the arrival of migrants from Yemen and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, highlighting the active tensions in these regions and the potential risks associated with accepting individuals from conflict zones.

Trump expressed concern over the treatment of migrants compared to that of U.S. veterans, claiming that veterans often face lengthy waits for healthcare while migrants receive free treatment.

He argued that the incentives for illegal immigration are too great, leading to an increase in the number of migrants attempting to enter the country.

The former president contrasted the responses of Republican Governor Greg Abbott of Texas with those of Democratic governors in other border states.

He specifically criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom for what he deemed a “terrible job” in handling the migrant crisis, as millions of migrants ingress and numerous citizen residents egress.

Trump also referred to Arizona as a “problem” in terms of border security and characterized Governor Katie Hobbs as “very liberal.”

Despite his criticism of Democratic governors, Trump did offer praise for New York Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who is attempting to handle the migrant surge in New York City.

Trump acknowledged the strain on city resources and the increase in crime but noted that Adams is facing challenges due to opposition from his own Democratic supermajority city council.

The mayor’s consideration of cooperating more with ICE and potentially modifying the city’s “sanctuary” policies was met with resistance from the council.

In his remarks at the border, Trump held President Biden accountable for what he referred to as the “blood of countless innocent victims” resulting from violent crimes committed by migrants.

He criticized Biden for the current state of the border and suggested that the administration needs to take stronger action to address the crisis.
