A massive container ship, named Dali, collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, causing a portion of the bridge to collapse. This incident is suspected to be a mass casualty event, with authorities coordinating disaster response.

Reports indicate that this is not the first time the container ship Dali has collided with infrastructure while transporting goods. In 2016, the ship collided with a stone wall at a dock in Antwerp, Belgium.

Although the incident caused damage to the ship, no injuries were reported.

The collision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has resulted in a more serious outcome. Emergency crews, including the U.S. Coast Guard, local first responders, and the FBI, are currently searching for individuals believed to be in the water.

Baltimore Fire Chief James Wallace has stated that at least two people have been rescued, with one in serious condition. The number of individuals still missing is uncertain at this time.

The container ship involved in the collision was a Singapore-flagged cargo ship. Before the impact, footage shows the lights on the vessel going out multiple times, suggesting a possible power failure. The ship also caught fire and became disabled after the collision.
