Meghan Markle stunned guests at the 2024 Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala on October 5, making an unexpected presence at the humanitarian event.
The 43-year-old looked stunning in a cherry red Carolina Herrera gown, which she reused for one of her final outings as a working royal with her husband Prince Harry in 2021.
For her most recent appearance, the Duchess of Sussex wore her hair down and wavy, an open-toed heel, and minimal jewelry, allowing the dress to speak for itself.

She posed on the carpet beside Kelly Zajfen, a mother who tragically lost her 9-year-old son Georgie to a severe illness in 2022. Meghan, who has five-year-old son Archie and three-year-old daughter Lilibet with Harry, also posed with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles president Paul S. Viviano.
“From my standpoint, as a mother, no one wants to be in a position where you need to go to a place like this, but if you have to, the best place in the world you could go would be Children’s Hospital L.A.” Meghan told reporters at the event.
“The staff is incredible and the amount of work they do for families that really could not afford this level of care is something I think should never be overlooked.”
Meghan explained why she decided to make the rare public appearance, saying, “I’m just grateful for everything they do.” I’m happy to help.”
Meghan last wore the outfit in 2021, during one of her final royal appearances with Harry at the Salute to Freedom gala before of Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom.
At the time, she wore the dress with different shoes and a poppy pin, the British sign of remembering. She also added a large matching train to the rear of the bustle, which she omitted for her appearance at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
