Walz Claims Mom Waits For Social Security Check To Feed During North Carolina Rally

"When my mom looks for that Social Security deposit to be made in her bank account, that's how she's going to feed herself. That's how she's going to get things done. He [Trump] doesn't give a damn if his Social Security check comes or not."

On the first day of early voting in North Carolina, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz visited the campaign road in Durham on Thursday evening, revealing a personal detail about his mother.

During his campaign speech, Walz stated that his mother must wait for her social security check each month to feed herself. Forbes estimates Walz’s net worth at more than $1 million.

Walz has spent the most of his career in the public sector. He was a former public school teacher and Army National Guardsman who spent six terms in Congress before being elected governor of Minnesota in 2019.

“We are all products of our past. When you grow up a middle-class kid in Oakland or in Butte, Nebraska, you care about Social Security,” Walz said.

Walz continued, claiming Donald Trump and all his “rich friends” don’t care or even worry about Social Security.

Walz further claimed that if Kamala Harris is elected president, a hundred million Americans will receive a tax cut, and that he passed Minnesota’s largest tax cut in history, benefiting the middle class rather than the wealthy.

“The one thing we understand about this is the economy works best when it’s fair, and it’s focused on the middle class,” Walz said.

Walz, who was accompanied by former President Bill Clinton, is holding another campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This is his third trip to the Tar Heel state as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.

After conducting only one joint interview in the first three weeks of her campaign, Harris and Walz have increased their media appearances in recent weeks to match those of their Republican counterparts.

Tim Walz is worth an estimated $1 million, according to Forbes.

Walz appeared on “Fox News Sunday” for the second week in a row on Sunday, Oct. 13, and also spoke with Jimmy Kimmel and the “Smartless” podcast the week before. He’s also appeared on Pennsylvania and Arizona television stations in the last week, as well as an extended interview on ABC television.

Walz talked with television stations in Georgia, Wisconsin, and North Carolina in recent weeks. Following last month’s presidential debate, he spoke with MSNBC and ABC, as well as Fox 17 in Michigan.

The Democratic Vice Presidential candidate has also spoken with radio stations in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Walz had already been derided for a September rally address in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in which he urged participants, “We can’t afford four more years of this.”

Although Walz may have been referring to gun violence or Trump’s rhetoric when he said “four more years” of an issue, conservative commenters attacked the Minnesota governor on social media for what appeared to be a criticism of the Biden administration.
