As Washington reestablishes relations with the Palestinians and focuses on a two-state arrangement, the United States will push forward with its arrangement to return the U.S. consulate to Jerusalem.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is a question and answer session on Wednesday said that the White House will be going on to open a consulate as a component of the spaces of fortifying relationship with the Palestinians as he said in May. He didn’t anyway give a time frame.

Blinken said U.S. will proceed to reinforce all parts of the U.S.- Israel association and upholds endeavors to propel an enduring peace in the Middle East.
The top U.S. representative’s comments followed his meeting with Israeli Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheik Abdullah canister Zayed Al Nahyan.
Since around 2019, the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem has been shut, but Palestinian issues have been taken care of by the consulate as Washington reestablishes relations.
The U.S. plan to resume its embassy was revealed in May by Blinken during a visit to Ramallah in the involved West Bank, where he held discussions with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
