Following the ban on cyclists, Okada (motorcycle) and Keke in major cities in Lagos State recently by the state government, Lagosians have lamented on the adverse effect, while some others feel it’s a right move at the right time.
SurgeZirc Nigeria found some comments on social media which described the present positions of residents of Lagos State and visitor as well. We’ve shared them below:

“I literally trekked from ojuelegba to yabatech this morning. On my way back from shoprite, I trekked to doyin. What is the way forward my people?
Someone said, ”The timing of this ban is just so wrong,” as others continued…
“More slay queens to choose the easier payment method for uber transport If u know u know”
Another user, “I no go lie for you, this period go hard o, but as always, we will adapt and move on very fast.”
Someone else thinks it’s a sharp move by the state governor, “The sweet move by my state governor…those Keke Napep has really dented my car with their yellow paint… can’t wait to hear them banned out of Abuja too.
Someone who doesn’t own a car said, “This is the wrongest time to not own a car in Lagos state.”
“No be today dem don dey ban Okada. Right from when Tinubu was governor to Fashola and then Ambode till now. Last, last Okada full everywhere. The problem is not making the law but is in enforcing it. With corruption still in the force, the ban on Okada is lip service.”
”Over to you Lagosians! I don’t know how you guys cope with living there. Maybe now, some of you need to wake up by 2 am to prepare for work with the underpayment and stress of a struggle you call jobs,” a none Lagosian said.
“Everywhere looks serene, just that how do they want those riders to fend for their families?”

“We simply adjust our lifestyle in view of the reality on the ground. Okada and Keke have made a lot of us lazy and lacking in any physical activities. I remember one small girl telling the parents that she doesn’t want to go to the UK for vacation simply because of, according to her, “one will trek and trek and trek…” People have simply forgotten the health benefits of regular exercise and trekking is one. So let’s hit the roads.” Another social media user said.
A user said, ”What happened at Badagry round around was seriously shocking. police chasing Okara riders. They are not even only collecting bikes, But, they are arresting the Okada man and collecting their bikes.”
